Happy Toys
Tree at Felissimo Design House
|
|
This holiday season, visitors to
Felissimo Design House's beautiful townhouse will see a
one-of-a-kind tree adorned with lovingly handmade
stuffed animals. The tree, part of a project initiated
by Felissimo Corporation of Japan, will be on display
from December 6 - 31, 2004.
The stuffed animals
were created for the annual "Happy Toys" project. Each
year, a new animal is introduced with a specific wish
attached to it. This year's Lion carries the wish of
love and courage for future generations.
During
the holiday season, Happy Toys are displayed on trees in
New York and Japan. Then in the New Year, the Happy Toys
are distributed to children worldwide, earning them the
name of "Smiling Goodwill Ambassadors."

Rhode Island School of
Design's Textile Show
|
|
|
Felissimo Design House presents the
thesis work of this year's graduating MFA Candidates in
Textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
This exhibition ranges from wall coverings to furniture
fabrics.
Established a decade ago, the MFA
program in Textiles at RISD graduates a small and
talented group of students each spring. By focusing on
design, this intense two-year course stands out amongst
the numerous MFA Programs in the U.S. that concentrate
on fine art textiles. The development of a student's own
visual and material language is a central theme in the
program, whether the student concentrates on the design
of woven or printed fabrics, or knits.
